KOBE:THE GRINCH
For the release of the iconic Kobe Grinch shoe as a Nike football cleat, I helped concept and art direct a video that reimagined the spirit of the original Grinch film through a football lens. We wanted to spotlight a wide range of NFL athletes while telling a playful, stylized story that honored Kobe’s legacy. The result was The Grouch, a contemporary claymation-inspired character who lives in the basement of a decaying stadium, obsessively studying game tape to decide who made the “Nasty List.” This list celebrates players who embody the Mamba Mentality, those who played with grit, intensity, and purpose. The piece blended humor, nostalgia, and reverence, paying tribute to Kobe’s influence while giving The Grinch cleat drop a unique and memorable voice.
